Let him go
Even though every part of you
Wanted him to stay
Let him go
Even though you thought he would
Let him go
Because everything you had to give
Wasn't enough
Because every place you touched couldn't be healed
Because he never let you in every place
Let him go
Even though your heart still aches
Let him go
Even though his hurting hurts you
Let him go

Even if your heart is big enough to want to forgive it all

Let yourself go
Because he didn't beg you to stay
Because he didn't fight to make it right
Because he wasn't the man he said he was
Let yourself go
Even though you'll never get part of your heart back
Even though you wish the past was different
Even though you never wanted to be the one that got away
Let yourself go
Because there is more for you, than this
Let yourself go
Because there is someone out there
Who looks at you and sees their future
Who looks at you and is ready to keep you
Through the good and the bad
And the pain and the beauty
Let yourself go
Because the future already is waiting with open arms
While you look backwards
At the man who made you his past.
