I’ll be away for a while

I’ll be away for a while

A Poem by Everett Dulin

I’ll become a man

of the wilderness

and I’ll show with begotten

hands, how worthy of a dream

I really am

purpose, pulls me nigh

and close without reason

if I die, chasing those dreams

that purpose, will allow me

to finally die free

as a wanderer, the things

those terrors that I’ve seen

now fuel me to push, to a fate

that I deem fulfilling

I am no longer a wanderer

there’s a story

about a bystander, finally

pushed to action, a survivor

who won’t die until he’s finished

because he found a dream worth chasing

I will survive, no

I will become the light

the one born from

the depths of nothing

and I will be loved
