A Poem by Everett Dulin
"

I've changed and I've grown. The one thing that stayed consistent was my love for poetry. I feel that my growth shows itself in it's writing, hopefully this proves that.

"
an ember, a testament
to a flame who burned his brightest.
a smoldering window to,
a truth that once tried to fight.

smothered, the flame who lost
along with all of its light.
encapsulated by darkness,
the one who refills the night.

time, who gets lost
as the midnight hours strike.
echoing grandfather bells,
flashes of a previous life.

the bells who ring,
mourning, mirroring
the flame burning bright.
the flame who turned to ash.

like a simple song,
one never meant to last.

so remember, the flame
and all of its fights.
remember, the flame
at its brightest.

It's great to see your evolution. I like how you added more shine to the old story. Thats perfect! Your creativity is within you, you don't need to be influenced by anything else because there is an endless reservoir within you. I really liked the last part of both poems, it's a real sign of growth.
