untitled 3

A Poem by Everett Dulin

an ember, proof flame burned bright
and a testament, proof it tried to fight

smothered, the flame was lost with its light
and darkness, refills the night

time, lost as midnight strikes
and the bells echo, throughout my life

the flame burned bright and turned to ash,
and like a simple song

it wasnt meant to last

so remember, my victories and fights
and remember, the flame at its bright

15?!?! I couldn't have imagined this at 55
Every sentence has an introduction and a conclusion, you can derive deep meanings from all of them, in a universal language. I swear to you, this poem gave me hope, It fueled the fire inside me and I can move with this fire. Look at the impact of Everett's words 4 years ago.
loved it!!!

Perhaps this offering tells the story of many people, those who set out to do great things and were thwarted by one or another of life's vicissitudes. The tone is one of disappointment but acceptance. Liked the spare but powerful delivery.
