pseudostar ideology(on suicide)

A Poem by Everett Dulin

bay doors rip and clash into an open position
with blaring alarms flashing their concerns
red strobes, personifying, my otherwise pale face
looking down blue underglows, my hands, my whole body shaking

is this fear?

just like the simulations
i am drifting, out bay doors, into the known
with no center in gravity, no tether in reality
i know where i am going

the reds of cautionary tatics, those blue florescent patches
each lost in the moment of moments, the holiest of relapses
already fading into starry engravings,
on my starmap, my prechartered course, the path im taking

but oh the stars

as the airlock creaks shut, those alarms absolutely silent this time
just a glimpse, follows with me to orbit
maybe under the helmet tint, it all seemed less important
but this time, as it all fades, only one thought comes to mind

just look at how they shine
