a challenge for myself

a challenge for myself

A Poem by Everett Dulin
"

someone said "a good poet could make watching paint dry interesting." we'll see if im a good poet

"
a blank slate
on unseen spackle and
torn gypsum scars
and a single drip

from the farthest corner
disrupting uniformity
forcing another layer,
its not the last by far

grab your roller
and patiently accept
your obsessive madness
for that perfect paint

then lay down, another coat
over that tortuous corner
set down your roller
as a drop replaces the former

Okay, you did it...maybe it was that last drop down the roller...
Just like talking about writing and how our pen paints words on a page...the process is more interesting than many would imagine.
