"they just dont chase them like they used to"

"they just dont chase them like they used to"

A Poem by Everett Dulin

New York City, Dubai
London, Tokyo's night sky
millions of nobodies
chasing visions of other lives

coming from nowhere
with bus passes, and day jobs
other than that
having, absolutely nothing

in million dollar closets
and gold for groceries
dry ramen, and canned tuna
the dreamer's perfect salmon

"so chase those dreams"
a beggar told me
with glorious stories
of his fall from paradise
