i looked in the mirror once and spoke never again

i looked in the mirror once and spoke never again

A Poem by Everett Dulin

my knuckles bloodied
my appetite unsatiated
as i drag my lifeless former
to his unmarked grave

it started nonsensically
he seemed so ill
something i could fix
there was a hole i could fill

his eyes resembled
something like a doe's
an impenetrable void
as i gazed into my own

so with knuckles like glass
our fists met, leaving gashes
his cheeks swollen
those doe eyes wept

and with a mercy blow
i destroyed what was left
i killed a man(myself)
i just wish to repent

bring mercy to the mirror
and those seven years left
bad luck have mercy on my soul
those doe eyes i just couldnt accept
