you wont find cigarettes in the snow

you wont find cigarettes in the snow

A Poem by Everett Dulin

the look in your eyes
the panicked subtlety
withdrawals will have you itching
dont ask me to never leave

take your six steps back
darling i know im boring
i see you scanning ashtrays
because you asked me to quit smoking

calm down
the moment will last forever
so calm down
you arent ready for auburn's weather

an end will never come
its a sum of its means
so calm down
its okay we werent meant to be

there are no cigarettes in this weather
im too trapped in my grief
if youre waiting for your moment
nows your time to leave

so darling calm down
its okay if you still love me
calm down
you dont need a reason to leave

What the hell? I’m speechless.
Can I say this is one of my favorite of yours…
Last stanza left me in the dark place, alone.

Dude you are THE talent himself.
But please quit smoking.
