such a pretty house.

such a pretty house.

A Poem by Everett Dulin

i understand,
that everything's set.
if i rewrote the books,
it'd ruin whats left.

but still,
i find myself, drowning.
in the ink, down the well.
accent marks, left to quell.

if i could,
i'd revise one line.
the one where I knew,
we weren't a lifetime.

Great ending. I don't revise poetry, I write it and leave it. My exes have loved me and left me, no revisions.
