it was a nice life

it was a nice life

A Poem by Everett Dulin

pull me closer,
my darling
my sputtering breath,
our eulogy

im sorry,
my dear
i got caught,
in the headlights

one moment,
my final eternity
as i lay,
on the roadside

remember me,
and all of our goodbyes
all of our tragedy,
it was a nice life.

reminds me of an old sixties tune, Last Kiss by Jay Frank Wilson.
"I kissed our last kiss, I found the love that I knew I would miss, now she's gone even though I hold her tight."
