to my mother

to my mother

A Poem by Everett Dulin

i see you
staring from distant doorways
my whole life
youll never show your face

i love you mom
and your words i can only imagine
they hold true
in the worlds ive fathomed

your distant touch
formed from memories of love
left a small marking on my chin
if only i could repent

the thought of you
which i hold so dear
is a figment of yearning
may the waters never clear

This is so sad. It doesn't have a lot of writing, but you say a lot with a few words.

this is heart wrenchingly beautiful...and reminds me of my own mother, and that distance that lessened but never quite disappeared....i miss her.
