The tragedy of Cain.

The tragedy of Cain.

A Poem by Everett Dulin

its been forever,
before eye to eye.
losing face, represents
such lowly lives.

so with your dagger,
knash into my bones.
my blood an apology,
not the same one you know.

rewritten essence, poems
the pages open.
repressing, condescending, regret
ill let it out on show.

so please, i beg of thee
rip the pages, rewrite the history
even if it ends, killing me.
i understand your feelings.

your altar, flay me alive.
a testament, not sacrifice.
penance bleeds, the blood our own.
mixed intertangibly.

your dagger, held by the blade.
flesh ripping everything,
in the end,
two brother's corpses remain.
