we're drinking bottled love now.

we're drinking bottled love now.

A Poem by Everett Dulin

its funny,
how worlds collide.
tangled in each other,
every thought, never mine.

i sit, on an oak bench,
overlooking the lake.
with stars as false guides.
they never understood, this love of mine.

i wish it was over,
but it just began.
the surface destroyed,
but our cores still intact.

when waves collide,
and feelings such.
"i miss you,"
might just be enough.

i heard those words,
the world's end stopped for a second,
was it always the truth,
did i push myself into the pretend?

you were there,
right before the end.
i remember now,
you said i couldnt amend.

you're here now,
regretting what we did.
we ended the world,
acting like we could forget.

theres no fixing it now.
just mourning goodnights.
im drinking bottled love now,
in the pretend, ill live a good life.

Reality is more salt than sugar. For most of us anyway...

Good work man. And good luck my friend.

Everett,
Froom my experience over these past seventy-five years, I'm not sure which is the better muse, falling in love, or Falling out...Joy is a way to know you are alive... so is pain...
