late night life

late night life

A Poem by Everett Dulin
"

guilt, denial, and still heavy into self sabotage.

"
forever adrift,
only the stars to guide me.
closing shift,
the mess we've made.

checked out,
unable to find balance.
so just close the records,
don't let anybody in.

midnight coffee,
five cigarette.
don't take a break,
before they're gone.

sit in silence,
forever we wait.
only god knows,
when day will break.

iridescent buzz,
a beautiful choir.
"what was that?"
"nothing."
