plunge pool

plunge pool

A Poem by Everett Dulin

neon signs guide,
the souls of the night.
stereo heart;
frequencies, a wanderer

just trying to survive.
infinite stories,
always in your eyes;
radio stations

collected voices,
smooth and concise
dj spins; the room
fades into sight

cities sing hollow hellos,
stay for the life.
we'll love you,
until you're gone.

a seat for a stranger,
a person you know.
you reek of the same fright.
goodbyes, the tab defines where we go.

clocks that no longer,
sing of time.
countdowns to eternity.
symphonies,

laughter.
memories we know are lies.
put on a masterful show,
songs between mountains of blow.

encore; last call
your exit; stage right
these cross walks,
a way of life.

walk for the light.
what you're searching for,
can't be found here tonight.
so, wanderer you'll stay.

you cannot save face,
but you can always tune in.
plunge pools,
connection for a night.

Author's Note

Everett Dulin
I don't like being dedicated this much to rhyme. It feels unnatural, but I need to practice and improve. I revised it too
