A Poem by Everett Dulin

what were your last words
were they words of fear
love
were you alone

i tried recreating you
using assorted wires and bits
what i saw
in my own image

i fed you, the static
your soul
lifetimes of information

your skin though metallic
and barren
carries the same warmth

The sun is about to rise and I decided to read a poem of yours before I go to sleep. I don't know what the numbers mean, but I think this is one of your first poems, because we started here at the same time. LOL. again.
This poem reminded me of a quote from a TV series for some reason.
- You can't bring someone back to life by loving them
+But you can try

"i tried recreating you"
you are so clever man. you know how to cook this. Might be my fav, again

' the static, ' and ' your skin. '
' i tried recreating you . . . '

Only a number, but soooo much more.
This is beautiful, yet filled with such depth and emotion.

You truly are an artist with your words.

Wow. This could go several ways, to an old phone number branded into heart’s memory or even a tattooed number that found its end at a concentration camp. 🙏🏻🕊

I’m digging the cyberpunk vibes that I’m getting from this piece. I’m looking forward to reading more of your writing.
