A Poem by Everett Dulin

as i ripped and peeled chunks of cold flesh
in a desperate attempt to satiate myself

their faces lied every truth
thinking, unfeeling

i found it was wire my hand mercilessly tore through
it was warmth i found in the machine

i saw her screams
the static, the divine

her soul

i devoured an angel
though machine, it thought

I had just read your other poem “49229145”and wanted to read something else of yours. So my thoughts are as follows.
This poem is much more visceral and dark than 49229145 but that’s not a bad thing. As before I get cyberpunk vibes with at least both of your poems thus far and this piece reminds me of the anime ova’s during the Japanese economic bubble of the 80’s to early 90’s. AD police files comes to mind in particular where a specialty police force is tasked with eliminating “boomers” using brutally violent tactics.

I am curiouse as to what inspired these pieces.
