A Lover to His BelovedA Poem by Filibustero IbarraI wrote this during our English session about free verse. I wrote this for someone I loved in the past. *sigh* Teenage love, ay?Seize me, O fallen Goddess, For thou art the pleasure of my soul" For my sin is deep and my passion is intense. Thou art the lust of my love. And the crime of my virtue. Thou art the destination of my pursuit. My heart is a slave of thy splendor. My mind is a captive to thy worship. Thy kiss is as fresh as the morning breeze. And my love is as strong as a winter gale. Kiss me once more, O glorious Saint, For thy life is my only obsession, And my devotion knows no other. Is it not that thou art the Master of my heart? To live for another’s sake is treason. To die for another’s sake is blasphemy. The reason of my being is brilliant, And thou art the reason of my being. By the wind held by thy lovely wings, I breathe. By the embrace of thy warmth, I live. Beside thy sacred presence, I will die. And that is my eternal vow. Hold me, O beautiful Creature, Tame the agony in me and end my misery. Be with me forever and I will suffer no longer. Let not our love vanish into nothingness. © 2011 Filibustero IbarraReviews
