Emmanuel

Emmanuel

A Poem by Filibustero Ibarra
"

I posted this poem quite late. Merry Christmas to y'all!

"

In the town of Bethlehem still and sound,

At a forlorn cavern, some shepherds found ,

A small child in the arms of His Mother,

As His Father watched in awe and wonder;

An angel came and proclaimed: “Praise,

For His name is Immanuel, Lord of Days!”

The breeze chanted through the old figs,

Brushing the earthbound leaves and twigs.

The heavenly stars twirled, all vivid and bright,

Upon the dark sheet of the cold winter night.

The creatures of the earth bent before Him,

Whose glory and greatness will never dim .

In the midst of all the joy and rejoicing there,

I was brought to Bethlehem by the blissful air,

And to the little infant on the manger, I fall,

For one day, He shall be the Savior of us all!

And I write, through the simplicity of verse,

The nativity of the Messiah of the Universe.
