Star-cross'dA Poem by Filibustero IbarraThough blinded by tears of an impossible love, her light shatters such blindness. She is a star in the night, a sun in the twilight.Alas, we are but two stars that could never meet! But tell me, why do you shine with such radiance, Which lights even the empty space of my heart? Apart, still your warmth has sparked within me, A sensation that is only aroused by your presence, Which the distance between us, two ill-fated stars, Rather than extinguish, stirs to greater intensity, The passion of this wandering and hapless lover, For you, who knows not of my hungry glances, And childish endeavors to reach you though far; Shy, you do not know how your entrancing light, Melts the heart-borne agonies of this lonely star. How I wish to wade through the chilling shores, Cross the pitch-black ocean, to come close to you, Embrace your soul, which I have long adored, In hopes that I gain the merit of my quiet worship, Your love, the destination of my tireless pursuits! But what can I do to alter what has been woven, By divine hands upon the celestial loom of fate? We drift on heavenly seas, held by countless wishes; Our courses are led by the rush of youthful hopes, Yet two ships cannot meet or thus, be doomed. I can only dream as the night reminds me of you. But I wonder, though the wind makes eyes heavy, Oh, how could I sleep, when you are shining there, Far away, still keeping me awake and restless? © 2011 Filibustero IbarraAuthor's Note
