Waiting For The Rain

Waiting For The Rain

A Poem by Fighter/Lover

I wait for the rain to start
I wait for the pain to stop
waiting doesn't help much
in fact, it makes things worse
you are my rock, my shelter
the one thing that keeps me going
the pain I see in your eyes kills me
knowing I am the cause of that pain
seeing what your absence does to me
should be enough to make you stay
the worst part is not your absence
but your presence
having you there is great
but knowing you're leaving hurts
the rain has finally began
the pain has only deepened
