Darkness

Darkness

A Poem by Fighter/Lover

As each day passes with growing sorrow

I long the tonight and dread the tomorrow

The night is dark and kind

The darkness keeps me from losing my mind

The day has promised happiness

But could never follow through

The days are my kryptonite

Where as the nights are my salvation

Day and night, very different

What time I spend thinking about those differences

I sit and watch the sun go down in peace

The soft glow of the moon on the darkened trees

As each day passes with growing sorrow

I long the tonight and dread the tomorrow
