Quiet bruises

Quiet bruises

A Poem by Catherine

I chose the forest that lack of trees,

So I can see the sky more clearly.

I sip on freshly poured coffee that is always too hot-

Burn myself badly so I have something to feel sorry for.

Chase her down to give her my love,

Cradle her softly to prove she exists.

When the crow calls and the birds fly south-

Maybe I’m too loud to hear,

Maybe I’m too quiet for these tears.

This rings of deep sorrow, and possibly some concealed guilt; following an illicit romantic tryst in a secluded forest glade.

I like how you have linked this with nature. After all, natural human list is just part of nature. A brief piece of writing, but still an emotive and emotional read.

thank you starr
I surely felt this one.
Stark imagery and a killer last line...bruises speak loudly, but not the kind of loudly that we hear, just the loudly that we feel.
