The Refusal of the SensesA Poem by fiery-sanPerfection... it's what you've wanted right? Or not.The perfection you claim I refuse such a thing Grains of fine white sand They slip through my fingers Still warm from the sun I shun and forget I close my eyes I prefer the infinity darkness provides Away from the rainbow filled azure skies As the white cumulus clouds float above Stop. The air So much freedom and fragrance I turn away and hold my breath Your delicacies Ambrosia, food for the gods An honor only a fool would deny Allow me to be the fool. The strings of the golden harp They release a spell binding melody A siren’s call, so melodiously sweet Hand me the wax and I shall be Odysseus I refuse you. A world of perfection. It is nothing A mere dream of fabrication I choose imperfection. The insanity we call reality. © 2012 fiery-sanAuthor's Note
