Flame DM

"

Rock and Roll's Contest. Spelling and typos but I cant read this....it'll make me too upset. Hope you guys enjoy

"

My name is Flame DM and many of you may know,
that a name out of fire is just a silly name.
But to me it holds a special place in my heart,
and I'll tell the rest of you where it came.

When your a kid you can make tons of friends,
just say your name and you instantly have a bud.
But sadly that had never been the case with me,
beaten and laughed at I figured I was a dud.

Shoved in boys bathrooms and thrown in dumpsters,
small little me had to spend recess all alone.
I would stay in class and pull out a book and a pen,
and that was where I would slip into a writing zone.

People would laugh on their way outside to the playground,
but one year there was one girl who decided to stay with me.
Her name was Alyssa and she was a book nerd as well.
She taught me that plots to stories were always the key.

We then began to talk and gab like all kids do,
sitting inside and writing our time away.
We had the same bus and I no longer had to sit alone,
she was my friend who brightened my day.

It was the first time I got to have a girl sleepover,
doing our nails and talking about boys all night.
Of course we wrote about a dog that was half plant,
and there was the unforgettable cupcake fight.

My parents didn't like her drinking divorced mother,
and like parents they believed they knew best.
Alyssa and I could no longer hang out together,
and of course time did come by and pass.

I still wrote stories on my free time and ignored my peers,
my stories were cute, but of course things werent the same.
Eventually I created a character that was part dragon,
She was a master and a figher and her name was Flame.

I was in seventh grade and Alyssa was in my homeroom,
my parents werent there so we began talking again.
On Christmas, I decided that we'd write Flame together,
but after the holiday I lost my dear friend.

One of her mother's ex boyfriends, Michael,
the b*****d decided to stop on by,
He raped her and stabbed her,
and on the couch is where she died.

Alyssa was twelve and watched it all on the stairs,
when the deed was done the b*****d had spotted her.
He chased her up to her room and stabbed her 13 times.
The police showed up three days after the event did occur.

When I found out I cried all day at school,
until someone said, "Stop being a baby".
My tears did stop and kids can be cruel,
I never cried over death becaues of April Mgee.

I ripped up my stories and threw my books across the room,
my friend gone I never again wanted to read or write.
I clammed up and teachers never got essays from me,
until one day clicking through the computer I saw Flame's light.

It was just a sketch downloaded into the computer,
of my favorite little dragon master.
With a frown memories flooded in my head,
I wanted to write that story with her.

All this refusal to deal with coping, and my exile of writing,
I realised was never going to bring Alyssa back.
She was up with God, her body frozen and in the ground.
That fat b*****d Michael had made sure to that.

I picked up my pen and wrote down Flame's name,
my friend had inspired me with a gift you see.
And to not use it was a disgrace to what I thought of her.
And that's where my name Flame DM had come to be.

I miss you A.P See you at the gates when God sends for me.

This piece brought tears to my eyes... Thank you for sharing what a wonderful person your friend was. Even as a child, she showed a bright and caring soul. Now as an angel... she can look over so many more including you... She lives on in your ink... and in your heart. Gone but not forgotten for the short time that she was here, she did more than adults could do... Showed love and compassion and was a good to honest friend. :)

This was a hard piece to ink.. but I thank you for doing so and sharing someone so special.

This one of the most moving writes that I think I've read on this site!
I know that it was difficult to pen this but you did one hell of a job expressing your emotions and telling us your story.
You say that your grammar is bad but I say when a story is compelling grammar doesn't matter and if your spelling or grammar wasn't up to power in this poem ... I didn't notice because the content of your writing was so strong and powerful!

Congratulations on an award WELL deserved!

Admiringly,
The Duchess...

So beautiful of a write...my heart goes out to you as I know it was not easy for you to share this part of you. Happy that you did....you are a beautiful person, and you and your dear friend will always share a special bond with the special pen name chosen. Even though she is gone....she will always be in your heart and soul. Thanks for sharing this emotional write. P.W.
