A Poem by Tammy Tami

School is out

Do you remember those wonderful days

Days that we did not appreciate

however, as we look at the young ones

sleeping late

watching t.v.

playing and running free

we wish we could recover those moments

to play again

to have mom/dad/grandma set us up in camp

or take us on free trips

Instead we hold our purses or briefcases tight

we look back at that resting child

and then we close the door

leaving the memory behind.

I like the last stanza where the child becomes the adult-leaving the memory behind. Very well written poem!
