My Stupid Best FriendA Poem by ArikI miss you bro.Hey man, These last two years have been crazy. Remember when We met during orientation week And argued over each other’s music. We met up again during rush week And bummed free food from a fraternity. Who would have ever thought That we would end up pledging together? Remember when We started drinking And you couldn’t handle your liquor. I stayed and watched As you hugged the porcelain god. Remember when I drank too much and blacked out, I sure don’t, But you made sure I got home safe. Remember when She broke your heart And we hugged while you cried. We walked three miles At three in the morning Through the ghetto Just so you could buy a smoke. Remember when I couldn’t go on, I felt worthless And that my life was without meaning. You knew just the words to say To bring me out of the darkness. Alone we were broken individuals, But together we conquered the world. However life isn’t fair, And circumstances change So to my stupid best friend I must say goodbye. © 2012 ArikAuthor's Note
