"new love"

"new love"

A Story by fhamie

She'll be flying to her hometown tomorrow
The warmth of the radiator
brings the feeling of going home.
Another wintery day makes her whole being shiver.

From the window...
the silence fills the empty streets
Her heart wanted to shout
like an airplane screaming through the air.

She queried...numerous times
like a slight whisper of the wind
Would she start the journey or not?
and conceal all the excitement she has?

She then suddenly wept with frustration
a feeling of hopelessness
runs through her veins
today...she's at sixes and sevens.

another sleepless night
she perceives she'll have tonight
as her minds stuffed with odd notions
she laughed to herself
coz she thinks she's running like a headless chicken.

woke up with sadness in her face
she  then decided to leave the house
this time...went out
she strode off in confusion.

she drags her bags
and off to the train station
as she gets nearer
there she was, looking frail
she kept walking and lost her way
found herself feeling discouraged and downhearted.

part of her wanted to leave to see her one true love
and part of her wanted to stay in freezing cold weather
thinking that she'd rather endure the pains
than coming back home for a vacation
knowing that her love will not be with her anymore.

why does all those poignant memories
seem beyond endurance?
now...she fainted and
the moment she regained her consciousness
a massive crowd was around her.

gently, she opened her eyes
there was this man, staring at her
while he patiently waited for her to speak up
this kind hearted bloke, unexpectedly became her knight.

he walked with her and helped her find her way
and asked her where she was heading to
she said...i'm home already!
she couldn't understand why she said that
as if she travelled so long and found the gold at the end of the rainbow.

from then on...
her heart started to beat again  with happiness
this man took away gloomy days and sadness
she then never came back to her hometown
as now her heart's filled with new love.

I think you present your work in a very interesting way. As the reader I felt like I was going through the pain with the point of topic because it was presented as if I was pulling her scattered thoughts and fears as they were raw and emerging. Good creativity in the presentation.

I can't believe I didn't see this piece of yours, it's just now as I was browsing through my read requests. Well, I'm sorry for that, but it's always best late than never right? :P Anyway I loved this piece, feelings of hopelesness as one leaves you then the feeling of another as one comes back and mends your broken heart back to pieces. Great love story. For me it is a story and not a poem :P A story filled with poetic structure, if there is even such a thing :P

What a wonderful tale .. sad then happy .. all reasoned with small pauses of wondering if ..

Your write flows very well apart from a couple of places .. have read it twice and once aloud .. it does help to do the latter.

Thank you very much for asking me to read this, I'm truly pleased I have.

Starts out sad and ends on a happy note. I felt like I was on the journey with her as she was returning home. Well written and I liked the format. Nicely done.

This is so terribly sweet. It's funny how love can give you something to live for, hmm?
