Big Tree

Big Tree

A Chapter by fhamie

chapter 1

"

commmenced a single stitch
waited long years to finish it
a single stitch
where love has built.

what a big surprise
when love started to bloom
when i taught him how to make
a single crosstitch.

couldn't believe at first
how this man
shared my simple interest
knowing that
he's every woman's man.

i was o'er the moon
my heart melted
my hands felt the jitters
i knew i was in love
i just couldn't understand.

from a single stitch
i then framed a finished crosstitch
it showed a BIG TREE
stood steadily
that seems can withstand
every storm and stong wind.

all i wish...
that our love for each other
is as strong as the BIG TREE
conquer the storm
fight for our love
til the end of time.

It's simple and so sweet. I like way you compared the stitch wit love. A very good metaphor.beautiful.

Very clever, from begining until the end. :)

Beautifully written and I like the way you compared love to a single stitch and how it eventually will become a tree. Love is created simply and then grows into something so much more. Really enjoyed this.

Love is the very fabric of life, so it is only befitting and natural that it be built from a single stitch... Outstanding.

Beautiful, can't wait to read the rest. It's a very sweet story. Is the rest of this book poetry that continues with these characters?

It took me awhile to get the gist of the poem, sorry it's my fault, i read it when i was still half asleep. But. I came back and read it again, and it was truly beautiful! I loved the simplicity of the poem that draws the reader to a love-filled emotion, as he/she remembers the past of being in love. Can be for the first time or whenever, but its there. The Big Tree for me was like a symbol or something for lack of a better word. It's obvious though since you've written it as something like that, that can be the sole symbol for how strong your love can grow.:) Great job, it was a truly lovely piece.:)
