Words

A Poem by Fey Frost

All the words that have ever been spoken

Used so cruelly for war, fun or pain

Are forever swirling, forever broken

Handled as blades for people's gain

How could they not see the truth?

These words they carelessly toss

The poor letters they use for abuse

Have caused us all such great loss

Word by word scarring our hearts

Till we break and follow their lead

Hurt others with our words then depart

Leaving the weak alone to bleed

While we revel in our newfound power

Following blindly to remain pleased

Gaining more by turning people sour

Such kind people doing horrible deeds!

Our old selves would've never believed
