An Oath to a Friend

An Oath to a Friend

A Poem by Fey Frost

A friendship to hold on to with your dear life
An unbreakable bond withstanding tremendous strife
A ray of sunshine to brighten your day
A gentle hand to hold when you sway
A joke that wipes tears from your eyes
Someone who sees through your elaborate disguise
Someone whose mind and yours work as one
Who won't let you give up saying you're done
Someone to soothe your life in times of despair
For with them as your friend your grief is all too rare
And on this day you tie that bond
With an oath you swear to forever uphold
"From this day, I promise to never let you down
Till the day comes when you wear your white gown
Where I will shoulder the trust you gave
With the love you would soon engrave
On a wedding day filled with pride
Of a friendship that lasted through time and tide"
