human nature

human nature

A Story by Fey Frost

We revel in the defeat of other and then we question our humanity, but doesn't that just make us even more humane? A cruel person wouldn't pose such a question, they would not even think they were in fact being cruel, but why are we cruel? Why do we laugh when others fall? Or push them till they stumble over their own feet and then go and help them up and show them mercy. What is this hypocrisy we live in? We all have that sneaking urge not to care, but we try our best to be nice and we bury that urge along with the urge to practically choke everyone around us because they are oh so stupid. But think about it, why would anyone purposely be bad? Why aren't born bad are we? I guess it's all ways to get us through life. Yet we want to be loved, we want to be invincible and unfortunately we can't have them both and we better choose one fast because our time is ticking away. Tick. Tock.
