I sawA Poem by Fey FrostI have never known smiles, nor have I ever felt tears
But I have been touched by the sun; I have felt cheer happiness,
I was draped with darkness; I have been scalded by my fears
But the greatest of all emotions I have seen is kindness
I have observed the power of a single good deed
I have seen love grow and friendships end
Nations rise, only to be struck down by greed
I have heard laughter echoing between new found friends
I used to tread those streets at dusk, eyes wide
Staring at those who pass by, hidden from sight
I deduced our greatest fault was our colossal pride
Yet one simple act throws smiles into the night
Filling the air with hope and warmth untold
A warmth capable of freeing us from all the cold
