I Think I'm Going To Hate This Summer Too

I Think I'm Going To Hate This Summer Too

A Poem by Ferras K

distant though the sun
i feel the heat burning
under my skin
as sweat forms like dew drops
on my forehead
i wish for the night
and an escape
from the fiery gaze
of this summer sun

the artificial cold is no use
it's like having
an out-of-the-body coldness
and the knowledge
it's not really cold outside
just makes it worse

and the breeze
it too fears the sun, i presume
or the trees are too tired to sway
in this summer heat

it's the Ides of March
when spring should add
an extra spring in my steps
but it feels like hell in July
only it's the Ides of March
and i feel heavier than heavy
and i can't bear the thought
of July that is to come

This is wonderful. Enjoyable read.

I love summer!
It's like burning gold everywhere! And so few people to clog the streets! And the intermittent showers of rain! And the evenings under the stars! And MANGOES! :-D
But yeah, I guess it's uncomfortable...but so is the whole of life :-)
Your poem got me sulking too, but then...I love summer, man!
Awesome write. :-)
