Lost In Boredom One AfternoonA Poem by Ferras K
a static lullaby playing in my head
a cool summer sun sinking in the distance as i write these lines in my rumpled bed in a daze of boredom, mine eyes losing sleep this won’t be a day to remember, to recall a lull, before the week comes with its urgent call now sleep crawls on my eyelids, hypnotizing losing my will to these calls for release while the songs sing their lines, screaming discordant notes cushion my fall into dreamland nightmares lie in wait for my descent now who will follow my scent? i’m lost to the waking world, lost to the senses watching and waiting silently leading me to the trapdoor these reasons for lethargy a wasted afternoon, a loss of energy i just want to free-fall, it seems i made myself believe in dreams soon the mosquitoes will come out to play as the view from my window is swallowed by the night darkness crawling, sneaking up on the unsuspecting Time, that merciless betrayer leaves me living on a prayer leaves me hanging on the edge © 2012 Ferras K |
