But Never A Learner

But Never A Learner

A Poem by Ferras K

i gave in again
as ever, unable to withstand
these temptations
of pleasurable sensations
they have sunk deep,
lodged firmly within
where principles should have been

so i enter the foreign
where fantasies reign
while reality watches my plight
in its unforgiving light
where there be no mercies gifted
where there be no regrets mitigated
there, my waking slumber is ended
and into remorse, my feelings are bended
inside a landscape of helplessness

it's a cycle
ever recycled
where i tag along
a spectator
an observer,
but never a learner
