Chasing Light

Chasing Light

A Poem by Ferras K

when i first came here
i was cold, wrapped in fear
but hope that sent me here
kept me warm through the night
loneliness haunted me
like a leech, it clung to me
led me to places i didn't want to be
but i ran, forever it seemed, in search of light
my footsteps sounded loud
falling in the silence like a raucous shout
i'm hoping they won't come out
the monsters lurking in the dark night

i call on your name
i need you, there's no shame
every other excuse is just lame
when the light i've been chasing is you
so hear me out
my silver lining in the clouds

and if i should get there
some place where i'll be near
to that light i hold so dear
let every color illuminate
let your steady light hold me
somewhere we'll always be

. i'm going to try this magic spell of a poem on "my silver lining in the clouds" ... because i know it'll work ... after all ... it's been written by an infinitely poetic magician ... :) ...
