I Wonder If Winter Will ComeA Poem by Ferras Klast year, i moved to Agartala, NE India. i work there. when i moved there in Feb, it was already warm. and it was still hot and humid going into late Oct. it seemed like winter was never gonna come.
I like the summer that follows spring
with the flowers done blooming their fruits appearing, ready for ripening I like the summer of my home town quiet in the auburn heat that lazes around with streets empty, like a ghost town I like the summer that the monsoons grace to feel that cold splash of faraway oceans on my face watch paper boats locked in a desperate race I like the summer that slips unnoticed into fall filling the air with festive calls so close to winter's breath, cold But this summer is not for me its prickly heat sticks annoyingly as it rolls on continuously October's nearly done and still the heat is draining fluid and will the winds chasing dust from anthills and i wonder if winter will come © 2012 Ferras K |
