NeedlesA Poem by Ferras Ksome time ago, a local paper reported a mob beating to death a drug addict, apparently escaping from his rehabilitation centre... i guess this was inspired by that news report
A troubled man
A slave to our own creation In search of salvation But his demons returned And the walls of his confinement They could not keep him in When deep within where cravings come to life That old familiar need Like a flood came rising Unstoppable, carrying everything away But they didn't understand This fallen man trying To find a crutch, trying to stand And no one remembered That he, once, was a man Before the needles came With blood running in his veins As red as any that ever flowed Do you think they ever wonder The hands that showed no mercy Of his dying thoughts, his final wish What if, as the blows rained down What if he prayed for forgiveness and mercy ''Lord, forgive them for They know not what they are doing'' What if, as the blows rained down What if he thanked them with his final breath For granting him his only wish Ever since the needles came Finally, a helping hand To break him free from his prison © 2012 Ferras K |
