Who Are You

This is madness!

Breathe in and focus

exhale to know this

the news is bogus

and the stories are crap

Just stop and think

about your thoughts

about your feelings

what and how you think.

Consider that you are brainwashed

on every level of every day 

on every level of our entire lives

boys, girls, men and wives

Things we got mad over

depressed o'r

sad and glad over

your loyalty is sound

We are bound

by our Culture

it is what made us afterall

but we must question

IS race even real

Does violence and hate appeal

Is Love your weakness

what does your heart reveal

where your mind is

in a lost place

lost in today

lost in play

Does it work

this is what you know

No, not any more

day after day

You no longer have the answer

only a short term solution

with just a little bit of pollution

petty politics and a sad day

For our leaders, parents and teachers

the cycle of today

the milieu of our way

It IS ALL WRONG - Is what we say

Now IS the time to say

right here and right now

Is OUR TIME

This IS our time

Many before and many ahead

We are the ones that are not dead

Now is the time to make a difference

Or we can just die doing the wrong things

So If you aren't dying

and aren't worried about this or that

if you don't live in a box 

and aren't dumb as a box of rocks

Who are you?

What does your heart say

where is your good today

are you kind

forgive your friends

for they know not what they do

love and be kind

show them the right way

Do this for you

Be Real

Be Human

what do you have to lose?

Very thought provoking poetry you pen'd up. There's some kinda smell of virtue deep in your words that hustling the world to be real .. & leading it to its own "originality". No one gets anything to be fake so it's fair enough to render such a message to the world: "Be Real!" Nice imagery!
