Our PlaceA Poem by Esther10/3/16If I fly high enough, Will I escape this life? Let me bathe in the illumination of the moon And decorate my body with twinkling stars-- Will that make me pure? In a distant universe Where my hair is blue, And my eyes sparkle with stardust-- I am yours; We are together in Our Place. In Our Place, The weather is always warm Because the sun of our extrasolar planet Understands that I cannot withstand cold seasons. In Our Place, The stars always shine brightly each night, But we never take them for granted Since the stars are within us. In Our Place, I am yours and you are mine-- The love we share is purer than a newborn star, And I am not drowning in self doubt. I will dream of this lovely place, But that is all Our Place can be-- A distant dream Struggling to fight against reality And rise above the surface of fear.
