Chapter Two: The moon and Sun Empress's and their balance brother

        In the Land of Darconis where Dragons are in high demand there is a Kingdom called Amythest. The kingdom was once ruled by the Just and fair Emperor FLIGHT and his wife who was empress. They had a son who they named Hawk after he was gifted with the power to transform into the majestic bird. For Five years he was deemed the next in line for the throne. That was until the Empress gave birth to twin girls.

 

       The night they were born, Selene the moon goddess and Poseidon the god of the sea came together and blessed one of the sisters with the gifts of Passion for all living things (Selene) and The power over water (Poseidon). Afterwards Isis, the Goddess of life came and breathed a part of her very essence into the child so that she may be able to help bring new life to the kingdom when she was older. The daughter was named Nevaeh Flight

 

        The Morning afterwards, Helios, The sun god and Athena the goddess of battle came together to bless the other sister with the gifts of knowledge of battle (Athena) and the power over the sun's fire (Helios). Afterwards Thanatos, the god of death came to child and breathed a part of his very essence into her so that she may be able to help the passing of the dying when she was older. The daughter was named Fenix Flight.

 

       Being so close to the personification of the Moon, Nevaeh's hair turned a pale almost silvery blonde. As she grew older tattoos started to appear. First were the tattoos on her palms. On her right palm was a blue moon, where she was able to wield the power of water from, the other was that of an eclipsed moon where she could help ease the passage of new life. Then at the age of 7 a silver moon tattoo in between her eyes formed along with blue spirals that framed her eyes which over time the right one turned green to show her allegiance to Poseidon and her left one blue to show her allegiance to Selene.

 

       Being so close to the Personification of the Sun, Fenix's hair turned a vibrant fiery red. And like her twin as she grew older tattoos started to appear. Again like her sister the palms were the first to appear. But unlike her sister her's were of suns. On her right palm was a red sun where she could wield the power of the sun's fire, ON her left palm was an eclipsed sun where she could help ease the passage of death for those whose time had come. At the age of 7 a Red sun tattoo in between her eyes formed along with Orange spirals that framed her eyes which over the right one turned red to show her allegiance to Helios, and the left eye turned blue to show her allegiance to Athena.

 

        The sisters were Day and night, sun and Moon, Yin and Yang. Their differences caused great strife between them and would often lash out violently against one another. Emperor Flight and the empress did not know how to protect them from each other or how even them out.  It wasn't until Hawk prayed to Isis goddess of Life and Thanatos the god of death to come help did things turn out magical.

 

        Hearing the young heirs the god and goddess took pity and realized that they gave the girls gifts but never told them how to rein them in  and in doing so the powers ran wild within them. To correct the mistake they caused Isis and Thanatos Came together and blessed the Oldest child with gifts of his own.

 

       Hawk was from that day fourth known as the Balancer of the yin and yang, He was given all four of the girls gifts. In order for the gifts not to reek havoc inside the young boy the god and goddess made them dormant, Only to activate when he needed to help bring peace to the girls.

 

       Because he was gifted later in life his tattoo's also appeared later in life. First was the tattoos on his palms. Because he was the Balancer His tattoos reflected the girls, on his right palm was an eclipsed sun, and on his left was an eclipsed moon. They symbolized that no matter how different the sun and moon were from each other they went hand in hand, one was always chasing the other and needed the other's guidance in order to survive. At the age  of 13 the tattoo of a half red sun and half silver moon appeared in between his eyes with one orange spiral and one blue spiral framing his eyes. Though his tattoo's reflected his sisters his eyes did not, they showed his allegiance to the god and goddess who gave him his powers, (Life and death). His right eye turned a ice blue almost silver to show his allegiance to Thanatos (god of death) and his left eye turned the deepest of blacks to show his allegiance to Isis (Goddess of life).

 

        When Hawk was 16 and the girls were 11 Thanatos and Isis gave them all just one more gift. For the girls they gave them each a half of the yin yang symbol, Fenix the white Yang symbol, the color of death and the absent of all color, death destruction, chaos. Nevaeh the black yin symbol, which in their kingdom was the color of Life, the essence of all color, beauty, peace, order. To Hawk they gave the full symbol, both symbols too show him that he was the balance between his sisters, that he was important in their lives.

 

        Emperor and Empress Flight both then decided that Hawk's main priority was to focus on the girls and to help them learn to grow and learn their powers, They denounced his position as heir to the throne and gave it to the girls so they could rule the kingdom of Amythest together. Only the smallest of Jealousy rose up in Hawk when he first heard this But then it was quickly squashed. He had a more important job then being Emperor! He had to protect his family, his little sisters. And as time went on he was glad that he no longer had the responsibility of Emperor hanging over his head, he was free to do as he pleased.

 

       Sadly when the girls were only 16 and hawk 21 their parents were killed in battle (both were skilled warriors) and the girls stepped in as the empresses. As she was growing up Fenix showed promise of being a skilled fighter and would often put her input on battle strategies with her father. So when she became Empress it was only logical that she would step in the role of General of the Army. Growing up Nevaeh showed an interest in the dragon's that the Kingdom breed and would often be found milling around them, so when she became Empress it was only logical that she would step into the role as Overseer of the Dragon breeding program. Hawk although he was no longer in line for the throne he was given the honor of being the embasseder For Amythest and handled everything having to do with Politics. It was a job that suited him well for he was very good at smooth talking and always loved a good debate.

 

        It wasn't until her Second year of being Empress and general did Fenix meet Spith, a highly skilled, deadly soldier that was quickly moving up in the ranks of her Army. He was built and well defined muscles were clear and present. He wore his dark brown hair short and his eyes were the palest green she had ever seen. It wasn't long until Spith Azikari captured her heart and took her hand in marriage. She was only 18.

 

       Nevaeh had met Amarock Blackclaw three months into being Empress. The reason for their meeting was the fact that A threat on Nevaeh's life had been made and Amarock, being the leader of the Protectors, Took it upon himself to personally become her body guard until the person responsible was dealt with accordingly. Soon a love interest sparked between them and once the person was caught and punished he stayed on as her guard and they pursued a passionate affair. She was only 17 when this happened.

 

      Now Hawk was a different matter. He did not chose the path of love like his younger sisters. He took the path of lust and was known to take at least one sometimes two servant girls to his room nightly. Though around his 23rd birthday he met a particularly beautiful and smart servant girl named Alexandra, and from that day on he was sometimes seen stealing kisses with her in the deepest corners of the Palace, and she was seen every night stealing to his chambers, sometimes alone, sometimes in the company of another servant girl.

 

        The girls although they still fought and bickered they grew to realize that they needed each other in order to survive and rule the Kingdom in a just and fair way. Though their personal relationship was non existent they would push their differences aside to help rule Amythest. Within 3 years the girls made Amythest rise to a whole new level and the kingdom was better off then it had ever been. The girls were humbled and knew that a large part of the peace was credited to Their Balance Brother. And even though they did not have good relations with each other, each girl was close to their big brother and Together they ruled Amythest with peace.

NEVAEH is actually HEAVEN spelt Backwards
Fenix is actually Polish for Pheonix which everyone knows is a bird of fire

Also, the placement of this particular chapter is rather unusual. Typically, a chapter like this would be placed as the first chapter, or sometimes even as a prologue, so it eases the reader into the story. Just a thought/suggestion ^.^
