Chapter FourA Chapter by Fenix FlightLeam's back"Tell us everything" Whispers Kyroku. The three witches were in the library for second period study. Akatora quickly tells her friends how she revived Azazel.
"And now he is in my room, probably sleeping." She concludes.
"He's mortal, But still demon?" Hazel asks in disbelief. Akatora nods.
"I want to see him after school, Its monday so Neveah is at work tonight right?" Kyroku asks. Akatora nods again. Kyroku orders a power session at Akatora's just as the bell rings.
Hazel gets her books and rushes to her locker. She stops dead in her tracks as she nears the locker. Standing there is a man with shoulder length blonde hair, and even though she couldnt see them, she knew his eyes were a pale light green. Her sun ring starts to hum and glows a soft red.. The man was Akatora's arch enemy, Leam. Leam is the Reason Azazel had died. Leam looks up from his Ipod and grins his killer grin. Even though Hazel was disgusted and hated Leam, she couldnt deny his hotness. Leam walks over to her.
"Hello Hazel." He says politly, stopping in front of her.
"How DARE you show your face around here! You're lucky Akatora isnt here or she would kick your a*s" Hazel spits. Leam flinches at the mention of Akatora. When he had killed Azazel, Akatora went crazy with greif and hunted him down. She tortured him by stabbing him repeatedly in the back and stomach with a sword. That was two weeks ago and Leam is jsut now recovering from his wounds. A dull throb starts to begin in his lower back at the memory. "Why the hell are you here?" Hazel demands. Leam looks her over, she is wearing a skin tight red shirt and skin tight blue jeans. Her long blonde hair is perfectly straight and fell hald way down her back. He lets out a quiet whistle of appreciation, she was hot.
" I came by to see you Hazel." He admits, looking into her eyes, they were dark brown and stood out against her slightly tanned face. Hazel blushes and looks down. She steps around him to go to her locker but Leam grabs her wrist before she could leave.
"Let go of my jackass!" She says trying to yank free of his grip.
"Hazel listen to me. I know Azazel is Alive, I can feel him. You have to convince him not to kill me when he gets the chance. I have something I need to tell him. something important. please" Leam begs her. Hazel stares at the demon in confusion.
" I will do no such thing, Now let go of me!" She says. She tries to break free again but he still wont let her go. "You give me no choice then." She snaps. Staring at his hand she concentrates on setting it on fire. He quickly lets go, knowing what she was trying to do. He sighs.
"I'm not as bad as you think Hazel, Not anymore." He whispers his eyes begging her to believe him before he fades.
Hazel shudders, touching her wrist where his hand had been. What did he mean he wasnt bad? He is the definition of pure evil. But that sigh, it sounded so sad and the pleading in his eyes it was so urgent, What did it mean? Hazel Shakes her head trying to rid herself of the nonscence. Leam is just flat out evil there is no Buts about it. Grabbing her English book she slams the locker, agrivated at the direction her thoughts were heading. She stomps her way to English but stops short right outside the door. Akatora was already inside and Hazel knew in an instant that She couldnt let her read her mind and see Leam. Not until she got to the bottom of this. SO before she entered the room she threw up a few mental blocks around her memories of him.
"Hey Girly.... Whats up?" AKatora says as Hazel slid into her seat next to her. The late bell ringing loudly. Kyroku walks in a few seconds later and takes her seat in front of Hazel.
"Nothings up. Just got my book" Hazel says in a teasing voice, sticking her tongue out. Akatora lifts one eyebrow and the gesture and realizes something is going on. Suddenly Hazel feels a slight tingling in the front of her mind, knowing Akatora was trying to get in. She feels her hit the walls she had put up and sees Akatora's eyes widen slightly in shock. Hazel knew Akatora could easily break through them if she wanted to but knew she respected her friend to much to do so. But that didnt stop her from asking, loud enough for Kyroku to hear.
"Hazel what are you hiding? those are serious blocks you have in place? what are you trying to hide?" She asks, making Kyrolu turn around in her chair. Hazel feels her face grow hot as she is caught red handed.
"No-nothings up. I'm not hiding anything." She stammers knowing the studder gave her away. The others knew she was lying, she knew they knew, she just prayed they wouldnt say anything. Thankfully at that moment the teacher decided to grace the class with her presence and the class when straight to work. Being the last week of school the seniors had to buckle down with work to prepare for their final exams that started next week. After those were out of the way graduation was just around the corner. No matter how many times the teacher scolded Her for being distracted Hazel just couldnt focus on her work. She kept replaying Leam's eyes and voice in her head. The desperation she had seen didnt go along with being an evil demon, and if he had wanted to hurt her wouldnt he have jsut done it and not cared? Sure he had hurt her wrist but even that didnt seem intentional. She feels a slight build up of pressure and instantly snaps her walls into place, glaring at Akatora for trying to snoop in her mind.
"Back.... Off. NOW!" She hisses through clenched teeth, the clear threat and warning in her voice ringing. Akatora just stares at her, her mouth slightly opened in pure shock.
"Hazel you will tell us whatit is you are hiding as soon as we get to Akatora's" Kyroku says, leaving no room to argue. Hazel flicks her eyes to her mentor and sees her staring at her, her ice blue eyes held a slight challenge in them, daring her to disobey. Hazel meets her stare, Kyrokus blue eyes to her Brown ones.
"You can NOT make me. All I will say is don't worry, its nothing related to who we are." Hazel says, her voice unwavering, not betraying the lie she had just told. "who were are" was the code they used when refering to demon related business. She held her breath and for a few heartbeats she was afraid that her mentor would hear the lie in her words. If Kyroku discovered her lie there would be nothing stopping her from pulling her mentor card and forcing Hazel to tell. Kyroku stares at her and then finally shakes her head.
"Fine, If you say so. Akatora quit trying to snoop, if Hazel says its not related then you dont have the right to pry." Kyroku says turns back to the teacher who had been oblivious to the whole exhange. Akatora turns her sea blue eyes to Hazel making her flinch. In her eyes Hazel could read the anger. Akatora was her best friend and the two knew eachother inside and out. Akatora could read through the lines and knew Hazel was lying through her teeth. Hazel just stares at her best friend with fake innocence and acts like she doesnt have a clue. Akatora lets out a frustraited sigh and looks away. Hazel lets go of the huge breath she hadnt realize she had been holding. She had just dodged a bullet.
She may not know why she had the strongest urge to protect the encounter with Leam a secret but every instinct inside her was screaming to keep it hidden, and normally her instincts never lead her wrong. © 2014 Fenix FlightAuthor's Note
