I am from

I am from

A Poem by Zach
"

A poem about my childhood.

"
I am from Big Al
And Josephine
And “who’s John Henry anyways?”
I am from the place
Where supposed red roses
Make graffiti on white bricks,
I am from root’n toot’n
Cowboy boots and
Bang, bang, draw you yellow bellied
Son of a one eyed creaton.
From “where ya goin?”
And “to see a man
About a horse.”
From the Land Before Time
And I Love You Forever and
Forever My Baby You’ll Be
I am from the top bunk
And my own little world
And reenacting scenes
From the Lion King.
I am from little tin drums
And my top down collectible car.
From Mighty Morphing Power Ranger
Footie pajamas
And Batman action figurines.
I am from the backyard
And tapping bricks
With fake wands.

I have a vivid picture of scenes from your childhood. You are a lucky chap. a) you can remember these scenes, b) it seems to me they were very happy. I can imagine you as a child enjoying all of these events. I am a little confused about the tapping bricks with fake wands, but I love the presentation of the poem overall, and the way it flows over the memories. Thanks for sharing this, Zach.
