GOODBYE?

I often sit for some small time,

Alone with only me!

I Contemplate and think a while of what we used to be.

A tear will form and I will cry from deep within my heart.

For the pain that's passed before, That keeps us all apart.

What memories, Events I see when I look within,

But for reasons that remain unknown a tainted view presides.

Of locked in worlds, Of words unsaid, Of unreached heights of joy,

That somehow had these been explored,

Im certain would have been, Our saviour, Our saving Grace, Our journey onward bound.

So for now our gap remains, All written within my page,

Of pain and thought- not yet taught,

From a by gone age.

Unknown as to whether, Will be disclosed,

For purpose not yet defined,

The space between, Vacuous void, No life line foreseeable! Untimed!

My sense of loyal tenderness, My family unaware,

For they judge unfavourably, Just see that im not there.

But in my soul, A gap, Always filled with love for them, Unrequited, Untouchable for eternity, Now recorded with my pen.

So I express these feelings, With my lifes book before I die,

This final line, This one last verse, That simply says "Goodbye x".

Author's Note

Im trekking through a recent breakup of my family and the journey has been long painful, Guilt ridden and endless with some ground still to cover. As I approach the final death nell of the relationship I have taken some time to reflect and put into words some thoughts.

A very nice piece, if I do say so myself. I could feel all of the emotion that was described throughout this, and it's very rare that that happens with me. Your choice of words was beautiful and precise. My only thing to say would be to work on punctuation, I saw a case where 'I'm' was written as 'im'. Not sure if this was intentional, correct me if it was.
