Boy Put That Gun Away

Boy Put That Gun Away

A Poem by felioness
"

... about choices and sacrifice.

"

Put that gun away boy,
the hole you make with that son-of-a-b***h
is the one that’ll swallow you in the end,
then cover you with cold hard clay

... until you face your judgement day

Put that gun down kid.
Killing ain’t the way.
Think before you shoot,
hell boy, give a friggin hoot,
your life’s worth more than that I’d say.

I died on the cross for bums like you,
it’s never too late to change.
I don’t give a damn, what the Great Liar sez,
the Evil Pretender ain't got a clue what forgiveness can do

... so son, put that that gun away.

Yeah I died on that rugged cross for you...
so your miserable soul could be saved.

Wow...I really admire the powerful message you're sending with this piece. It's sad to know when young kids find their parents guns in the house & end up trying to use them, just to be cool around friends, then end up killing someone. We should teach kids about gun safety & I feel they should be a certain age in order to learn. People never bother to think before they act anymore...so heartbreaking...

Thanks! I really appreciate tv read and words of encouragement.
The sad thing is people who use guns to kill innocent people think that they are doing the right thing. This world is being consumed by hatred of different forms. Some people refuse to accept that others can have different opinions than their own.

A good, thought provoking write!
