A Poem by felioness
"

... those magical moments.

"

darling the moon winked at me last night

i swear i saw one large and glowing eye

blink    quicksilver    quick

a peripheral glimpse

yet when i turned

that large and glowing orb

was staring back

d i s p a s s i o n a t e l y

cocooned in the sable-lined void of starless-ness

in the distance wolves gave homage to the view

...i was thinking of you when i saw that wink

a chill crimping my spine - cold fingers of air tracing my flesh

from nape to curving lumbar hollow

i wanted to follow you ...

to run like a fox - ears laid back, tail outstretched

inhaling the last vestiges of your scent as it faded into

the   freshly   turned   earth

but in truth

... i am too mundane

too numbed and stupefied by consequences   beyond   my    control

and now my heart beats to songs of regret, missed moments

and all those things that will never be...

but darling ...

i   know   i   saw   the   moon   wink   at   me

I like what you did with this poem.....the spacing, the lettering....all contribute to the heartache. It is difficult to let go of a love in a different orbit, but it helps when the moon winks at us every now and then....:)

Delightful poetry!
