MovedA Poem by felionessWhen savage hearts are tamed.when we traveled we loved like birds of prey lush valleys stretched out below in emerald folds and bold cottonwoods dotted the landscape to shelter us when thunder rolled and lightning flashed ... you were warm, even when cold my soul in flight is a feather wafting on the winds of mood when we traveled freedom was a crystal stream from which we drank each draught a sense of soul and light you took me beneath your wings to tame an angry, thrumming heart softening with each loving bite my talons digging in yet, still you soothed and when we loved rivers stretched before us in boundless blues each coursing wave a waterfall lapsing into reflective pools you handle my heart in knowing ways no earth bound soul could ever hold so warm ... even when a wild heart is cold © 2017 felioness |
