"

freedoms lost and won through war, wound our nations to the core
the blood, sweat and tears, salting earthly soil for many years
the price paid scales generations, ruining our foundations
lost lives, fatherless children, widowers and widowed wives
each man and woman who fell had a story they could tell
defenders of liberty, paladins of all that's free

who will answer for the soldiers who died on distant shores?
swallowing their fear, upholding convictions held so dear
to suffer privation freeing enslaved populations
so democracy could survive where liberties can thrive
wear a poppy on your lapel, let pride in each heart swell
from shore to distant sea, let all nations make this decree:

remembering those who died, resolute in the pursuit
of freedom and please confess, we owe them our happiness
